Chatsworth House is a magnificent stately home just a short drive from the town. It dates back to the 16th century and houses a remarkable assortment of art, furniture, and valuable artefacts. Guests can explore the house, stroll through the gardens, and experience the art of falconry.

Additionally, you can visit Haddon Hall, a medieval manor house just outside the town. This house has been a film location for many movies and TV shows. The house and gardens are lovely to tour and many events and activities are held at the hall throughout the year.

According to legend, the renowned Bakewell Pudding is said to have originated by accident from a local cook in the mid-19th century.
